How to disable Flow ControlLooking for the Irrigation Valve we use in our air cannons? Top quality USA made K Rain 7001 irrigation valve. Very fast opening time provides for long distance shots from your electric fire air cannon (water balloon launcher, mortar, etc.). This information is for educational purposes only. Never modify or change any manufacturers product without their express consent. The greater majority of irrigation valves you can buy now contain flow control. The manufacturer builds in variable flow restriction to allow the user to adjust to specific water flow rates to each "zone" that they will water or irrigate. Unfortunately when building a pneumatic (air) cannon we want as much air flow as possible to launch our: - Marshmallows - Tomatoes - Paint Balls - Water - Toilet Paper - Snowballs - Ping Pong Balls - Stale Crutons - Etc. Flow control for us is a pain! Maximum air flow means maximum power and distance to whatever you want to shoot. Morst irrigations valves have some sort of adjustable restictor you can vary to stop the release plunger from operating wide open. The valve we show in our video uses a gear with a threaded centre to create a stop or restrictor to slow the flow. Pity! Now we have to take it out for maximum fire power in our air cannons. In this case, all we do is remove the top of our valve and unthread the centre gear. Bingo! No more flow control. Remember each valve has it's own type of control. Be patient when searching for the restriction mechanixm. It is usually a single piece. If in doubt, do not alter the valve. Safety is more important than a valve without flow control. You can always turn down the flow control to it's maximum setting. Click here to see a video on How to Disable Flow Control
